Pakistan’s batting sensation and former captain, Babar Azam, has ascended to the No. 5 position in the most recent International Cricket Council (ICC) Test batting rankings.


Babar, previously ranked 10th, experienced a significant improvement in his ranking, propelled by the underwhelming performances of Indian and Australian batters in their respective matches. 


At 29 years old, Babar now boasts an impressive 768 rating points.

Regrettably, star Indian batter Virat Kohli, absent from the first Test and slated to miss the second Test against England, has slipped to the sixth position in the rankings, trailing just behind Babar Azam.
